Abby + Gabe's Engagements

These cuties were so fun to photograph for their engagements. We did some fun prompts like: "Buckin' Bronco, the Dip n' Shake, and A Million Kisses". All of which bring on candid giggles, hair swishes, and movement.

If there's anything I'm a sucker for, it's some good prompted candids.

Logan, Utah is the perfect spot for engagement sessions with it's stunning canyons and beautiful urban spot for trendy, adventurous couples. For this session, we first hit the Logan Tabernacle on 50 N. Main Street which has beautiful grounds and clean-lined architecture for your background.

Next, we hopped on over to E. Center Street where we got some more urban color. This was one of my favorite spots because the colors of the building brought out the couple and their second outfits beautifully. I can't wait until my next couple's session there and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a trendy urban photo location.

WILL + DEB SINAWAVA WEDDING

This beautiful couple found each other and sealed the deal in the stunning location of The Temple of Sinawava in Zion National Park. Will + Deb were marrying each other for both their second marriages and just wanted it to be intimate with their best friends. It was sure special to witness their beautiful love and joy. Sweet Deb is a warrior of Parkinson's Disease and was walked down the aisle (or trail) by her TRIATHLON COACH. Not a dry eye.

Zion National Park is a stunning and slightly tricky place to elope. Nothing to be afraid of, though! Half my job is helping couples plan for these things and get equipped with the information they need. If you want your elopement to be unmatched in scenery, and special with your people, Zion is the place.

Here are some links for more information on permits and rules if you're thinking of Zion National Park as your elopement destination.

TERILYN AND THE MARE

This stylized shoot was everything I dreamed it would be. I asked Terilyn to come model her wedding dress for my photography workshop that I threw together in August of 2021. We had to plan the event on a day where the smoke from California and Oregon fires were crossing in Idaho and making the mountains hard to see in the murky air. This field is my back yard on the farm and the canyon behind the farmer's field is truly a sight to behold... when you can see it.

But we made the best of it and I was pleasantly surprised with what we were able to capture. Terilyn was gracious as she modeled her winter dress on a hot August day. She rocked it and you would have no idea that she was dying of heat with how beautiful she was during the entire session. She's also slightly weary of horses and I made her handle this horse and she did it like it was her day job! What an amazing girl.

Jade + wyatt's Wedding

This wedding was absolutely one I'll never forget. The day started out a little rainy so the bride was texting me, worried about the drizzles during her outdoor ceremony. We checked the weather and thought it would be just fine because the rain was supposed to clear up right before we were scheduled to go out to the ceremony location. Things were looking blue and beautiful right before the ceremony so we were thrilled with the weather turn out.

We did the couple's vow reading in a remote area on the ski lift platform. Wyatt went up there first and faced away from the trail, waiting for his bride. Jade's sister and best friend led her up there with her eyes closed and had her turn around when she got to the platform, as well. The couple took turns reading their beautiful vows to each other intimately and talked about how excited they were to start their lives. Jade walked back down to the lodge and Wyatt followed when he was given the all-clear.

We all drove down to the ceremony sight, slightly down the road.

As soon as the officiant asked the congregation to sit down, the heavens opened and dumped more rain on us than I have ever seen in my life. I'm not kidding. This was the craziest downpour I had ever seen. I was frantically trying to cover up my camera or wipe it off with whatever tissues or fabric I could find nearby. Literally shooting with my shirt over my camera and the lens peaked out. Of course the tissue dissolved and my sweater became sopping wet. The couple were so chill and just happy. They handled it so beautifully and thankfully we still got stunning shots with them vowing, kissing, and running back to their car in the pouring rain. We all booked it back to our cars and drove carefully back up the mountain to the indoor-outdoor reception venue. We all looked like wet rats when we got inside. As soon as everything made it back, the skies cleared and it was sunny and beautiful again. We all wanted to laugh and cry at the same time. I joked, "Who's ready for family photos?!" The bride still turned out stunning in all the photos - of course! Here's the beautiful thing about Jade. Any bride could easily feel in that moment that their wedding day was ruined and feel upset about the whole situation. I joked with her saying, "They say it's good luck to get rain on your wedding day. I think you guys just got A LOT of luck." Jade looked at me and said, "Ya know how my dad died 4 years ago? I feel like that was him giving me all the love he could to tell me he was happy for me on my wedding day. It felt like a message from him that he was proud and he's with me today. It felt so special."
